"The first book for reading after the Primer" contains three types of texts, different in content, style and font, which are united by a common theme: "Native nature in fables, stories, poetry and in life." I. Fables and stories - the essence of the continuation of alphabetical texts in a somewhat complicated version. II. The texts under the heading "Young Naturalist" contain concise information of an encyclopedic nature about the "heroes" acting in this or that story, fable (animals, birds, trees, etc.). III. Under the heading "Young Lyrics" are given excerpts from the poems of wonderful Russian poets (unfortunately, forgotten today), the content of which is associated with the "heroes" of fables and stories or with the conditions in which the "heroes" acted (time of year, day, weather and etc.).

Басни и рассказы - суть продолжение букварных текстов в несколько усложненном варианте. II. Тексты под рубрикой "Юному натуралисту" содержат сжатую информацию энциклопедического характера о "героях", действующих в том или ином рассказе, басне (звери, птицы, деревья и т. п.). III. Под рубрикой "Юному лирику" даются отрывки из стихотворений замечательных русских поэтов (к сожалению, сегодня забытых), содержание которых связано ассоциативно с "героями" басен и рассказов или с условиями, в которых действовали "герои" (время года, дня, погода и т.д.).
